Our History: Three Generations of Innovation

Kaytor Irrigation is built on Saskatchewan grit, family craftsmanship, and a drive to do things the right way—every time.

Our story starts in the soil. The legacy began with my grandfather’s landscaping business, where pride in workmanship was non-negotiable. But the irrigation foundation was truly forged by my father, who operated as Kaytor Irrigation Ltd. (roughly 1979–1995) and helped raise the bar for professionalism across Southern Saskatchewan.

When my father stepped away in the mid-90s, I carried the torch forward—starting in 1997 as Kel’s Sprinkler Repair, focused on specialized service and maintenance. As demand grew, we evolved under several names, including The Irrigation Guys and Greener Grass Irrigation, building a reputation for clean installs, reliable repairs, and straight answers. During those years, we coined the line that still defines the result we deliver: ‘Your grass just got greener.’

We also officially adopted the ‘clouds’ in our branding—a direct tribute to the original look and legacy my father built.

By 2023, it was time to bring the story full circle. We returned to the family name with pride and purpose. Today, we operate once again as Kaytor Irrigation Limited—honouring the past while continuing to improve how irrigation is done on the prairies.

A Legacy of Firsts

  • Pioneering machinery: My grandfather owned the second Bobcat ever brought into Saskatchewan, modernizing landscaping and irrigation work throughout the ’80s and ’90s.
  • Modern installation methods: My father owned one of the first two vibratory plows in the Regina region for plowing pipe. He was also among the first to move system components outdoors—installing valve boxes in-ground and mounting timers outside instead of in basements or garages.
  • Elite hardware, proven results: My father was an early Saskatchewan contractor distributing Hunter sprinklers. I’ve continued that legacy by sourcing top-tier brands like K-Rain and Weathermatic.

At Kaytor Irrigation, we don’t just install underground sprinklers—we build systems that last. We’re proud of what our family helped pioneer, and we’re even more excited about what we’ll build next.
